There is something very simple and pristine about this image that I like. You have a very simple, yet beautiful subject that you portray wonderfully. The colors of the land, split with a small depth of water, and then a vast sky is wonderful. You emphasize an empty space that really adds to the piece rather than detracting.
I also really like that you captured a reflection in the tide-pool from the person walking the dog.
One thing I would really love to see is that the image is slanted, a few degrees. I would love to see it straightened out.
You have done a great job of composing the image, it has a nice equality without having the main subject be dead center.
I'm not normally one for gain in photos, but it works for this one! It gives it a comfy old-timey feel. And on a completely unrelated note, that dark sand looks so strange. I grew up on the Gulf Coast where we have that powdery white sugar sand. Looks so weird! xD
