Inspired by photography, and how it often makes me feel optimistic in dark times.

Oh my goodness, now this is what I'm talking about!
It's now brighter, and much more focused. The blue water and sky is beautiful!
I do wish that you could have gone closer to the man, or zoomed in. Without the title telling us what the man is doing, we might not have ever known.
But keep this, I like it. :aww:

This really has the potential to be a really great image!
Though I do suggest some things...

1. Make sure that the picture is in focus. It looks a bit blurry here, so I would recommend a tripod for no movement. If you do not have a tripod, just make sure that the camera/phone has three points of your body touching it. For example, your two hands and your eye.

2. Like the deviant below, make sure that your photo has a focal point. It seems too vague and the viewer does not know what to look at.

3. Try using the Rule of Thirds when taking photos like this. Instead of placing the subject directly in the middle of the photo, put it slightly to the side so it becomes more interesting.

4. I think you edited this photo (not sure!). If you did, I'm guessing you used the effect "vignette" . I do not recommend editing. If you do edit, boost the colors slightly.

Hope this helped! :huggle:

Woah, I found this really helpful!
I never thought about resting the camera against my eye, that would definately stop it from blurring.
I might see if I can dig up the original photo to put your other points into action, I'll blur more around the un-focal areas, crop away one of the edges a little and at least dull down the vignette. As for the bluriness, it's a learning point
Thanks for your help! :w00t:

this is a great shot with some fantastic scenery :) my only suggestion would be to pick a single focal point. my eyes are not sure where to go on this shot, and i find myself wandering all over the picture. picking something to focus on in a picture can help boost the shot up to the next level :) it gives a "purpose" to the image which makes it easier for the viewer to connect with it

thanks alot :D
I was going for the man to be the focal point, if I try a shot like this again I'll blur all the other areas to make it more obvious

i think that would be a very interesting looking shot! it would be like the person is looking toward infinity :D like he is the sole focus of the universe!
